EVENT NEWS
Is all hope lost? How new shows get made in today's difficult environment
We’re excited to announce a fireside chat featuring three powerhouses of the podcasting world. Join us for an intimate conversation with Alex Goldman, previously half of the hit podcast Reply All, and soon-to-be host of the upcoming Hyperfixed; Laura Mayer, whose many credits include Shameless Acquisition Target, and who is now the Executive Producer of Podcast Programming at ABC News; and Samata Joshi, the Managing Producer of Podcasts at WBUR in Boston. A special thanks to Supporting Cast for helping to organize this session, where the trio tries to answer a tough question that is on the minds of many in the community: What does it take to make a successful podcast today? We can’t wait to hear their thoughts!
A look inside the Diary: A conversation about the influence and evolution of podcasting
We’re also excited to present a can't-miss keynote conversation featuring Steven Bartlett, the charismatic entrepreneur and host of the chart-topping Diary of a CEO, and Austin Lamon, the Podcast Product Director at Spotify. This conversation will be all about how podcasts and audiences are evolving, and how creators can stand out and grow their shows. A special thanks to Spotify for helping to bring together this can't-miss talk for all podcasters!
Our biggest party of the year at PM24 goes down the evening of Tuesday, August 20, as our friends from iHeartPodcasts host ALL ATTENDEES at Topgolf to celebrate PM2FORE (get it? It’s a golf joke)!
Hang out from 9pm until midnight, and enjoy some cold beverages, tasty snacks, and a round or two of fun golf games for all to enjoy. Transportation will be provided, courtesy of iHeart. Pick up and drop off will be at the Bus Loop by Woodrow Wilson Ballrooms, just head to the Podcast Movement info desk and take a left…we’ll be there to show you the way! Join the fun from 9pm until midnight at Topgolf!
But the first two parties that start all the PM24 fun take place Monday, as our friends from Consumable and Veritone One help make Monday great!
First, join us from 3pm-7pm in the hotel atrium, as Consumable helps us start PM right with the official Badge Pickup Party, where they are giving away up to $1 million dollars in Podcast promotion to Podcast creators at PM24! To participate, attendees must register their podcast at the Consumable check-in table after picking up their badge, and scan a QR code to answer questions about their show. Every podcast will be reviewed, and approved podcasts will have the chance to reach millions of new listeners through Consumable’s Promocast™ platform. Plus, the first 500 people to pick up their badge and check-in with Consumable will get a free drink voucher for the party. See all the details on how to qualify here!
Then, from 7pm-10pm, have a drink on Veritone One! The first 350 attendees to come to the Podcast Movement Kickoff Party score a free drink ticket! Stop by and connect with Veritone One, the largest and most data driven podcast advertising agency in the world, helping connect top brands with podcast hosts and audiences to continue to fuel the industry. Learn more here.
You won’t want to miss any of the PM24 parties, not only because our partners are making them great, but because they’re the best ways to connect with your fellow podcasters and industry pros, when not inside the four event walls.
